2000 Chevrolet Astro Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the right exhaust manifold on 2000 Chevrolet Astro?
A: The right Exhaust Manifold replacement process begins with vehicle elevation and subsequent removal of the right front tire and right fender wheelhouse extension. The Spark Plug wires require detachment while removing the Catalytic Converter assembly (Catalytic Converter Assembly). First remove the Exhaust Manifold bolts through the wheelhouse opening until you can remove the Exhaust Manifold as well as its Exhaust Manifold gaskets and Spark Plug wire shields from the engine compartment. Clean all gasket surfaces thoroughly. Sub-assembly the new gaskets and Spark Plug wire shields and bolts onto the Exhaust Manifold before installation but only do this while ensuring that Exhaust Manifold bolts stay in position because of the tabs found on the new Exhaust Manifold gaskets. After installation of the Exhaust Manifold you should reattach the Catalytic Converter assembly (Catalytic Converter Assembly) and the Spark Plug wires together. Afterward the process concludes by placing back the fender wheelhouse extension and front tire and the vehicle lowering sequence.
