How to replace the tailgate latch on a coupe on 2000 Chevrolet Camaro?

To replace the endgate latch of a coupe, first chamber/panel the window & rear compartment trim as called for. Remove the rear compartment lid release switch hose and the rear compartment lid lock release actuator secondary lock retainer and its electrical connector. Then, let out the endgate latch bolts and then take off the latch. Installation is done by aligning the holes in the latch with the holes in the support and installing it. Next, install the endgate latch bolts and fasten to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Finally, reconnect rear compartment lid lock release actuator electrical connector and secondary lock retainer, and install the rear compartment trim.
