How to remove and install the ABS Control Module on 2000 Chevrolet Corvette?

The first step to removing ABS Control Module (ABSCM) requires stepping in to switch off the ignition to stop equipment damage. Beyond disconnecting the ABSCM harness connector you must remove the three insulator nuts (2,3). Raise the ABSCM/BPMV from the bracket until you achieve enough space for insulator bolt and ABSCM installation. First use a screwdriver to untighten the ABSCM insulator mounting bolt before withdrawing each of the ABSCM to BPMV securing bolts until you can easily split apart ABSCM from BPMV without harming the seal. The BPMV gasket surface requires alcohol cleaning with a new clean rag before installing the ABSCM onto the BPMV. The procedure requires replacing the insulator nut with a new one whenever removal occurs. Tighten the four bolts to reach 3 Nm and proceed to tighten each of them to 6 Nm. The front ABSCM insulator mounting bolt must be installed before it reaches 14 Nm torque value (10 ft. lbs.). Fasten the ABSCM/BPMV back into the bracket by using the three insulator nuts (2,3) and tightening them to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Proceed with connecting the ABSCM harness connector while ensuring a complete engagement of both sides through the lever before closure. Afterward, switch on the ignition with the engine stopped. Conduct the A Diagnostic System Check for ABS.
