• Q: How to replace the ABS Control Module on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?

  A: Begin ABS Control Module replacement only after turning off the ignition switch because this prevents equipment damage in the system. Prior to ABS Control Module removal disconnect its harness connector then remove the two insulator nuts. Pull up the ABS Control Module/BPMV from the bracket mount to expose installation access to its insulator bolt and ABS Control Module unit. First remove the ABS Control Module insulator mounting bolt and then disconnect the four ABS Control Module to BPMV bolts while pulling the ABS Control Module away from BPMV with careful seal protection. The BPMV gasket needs alcohol cleaning using a clean rag before installing the ABS Control Module onto the BPMV. Replace the insulator nut with a new one when the removal process was necessary. Tighten the four mounting bolts first to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.) and then increase it to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.). Fasten the front ABS Control Module insulator mounting bolt with a torque of 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.). The ABS Control Module/BPMV installation requires insertion into the bracket while users install two insulator nuts and tighten them to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). The ABS Control Module harness connector should be connected by making sure both connector sides have the lever engaged before completing the closure.
