    A: To replace the brake pads one has to remove two-thirds of brake fluid from master cylinder reservoirs and pour it in an approved container. Lift and suspend the vehicle, and then take off the tire and wheel assembly. Press the piston into the brake caliper housing bore to clear the brake pads and the brake rotor in lowering the brake pads away from the brake rotor; with one end of the c-clamp (equivalent) touching the inlet fitting bolt and the other end touching the outboard Brake Pad. Subsequently, unscrew the brake caliper guide pin bolts after which pull-out the brake caliper from the mounting bracket and rotor while supporting it to prevent stress in the brake hose. Take off the brake pads, followed by applying a thin layer of silicone grease (GM PIN 18010909 or similar) to the Brake Pad retainers/Brake Caliper Bracket. Install new brake pads onto the brake caliper with outboard Brake Pad with insulator toward the housing and inboard Brake Pad with the wear sensor nearest the piston make wear sensor in trailing position during for ward wheel rotation and replace brake pads in axle sets only. Attach the brake caliper onto the mounting bracket and rotor again and replace any lost or removed fasteners with new ones, in order to avoid losing control of the vehicle, as well as getting hurt. Replace the brake caliper guide pin bolts with 31 nm(23 ft. Lbs),replacing the tire and wheel assembly the now put on the wheel nuts by the sequence 140 nm(100 ft. Lbs). Reduce the vehicle, and replace master cylinders with clean, fresh delco supreme 11 (GM P/N 12377967) or equivalent dot3 brake fluid from containers that were not previously used for petroleum-based fluids or wet with water to prevent the harms of the hydraulic control. Make sure the master cylinder is at the right level, and do not shift the vehicle before a strong brake pedal is felt because failure to do so may lead to personal injury.
