Service of the exhaust crossover pipe requires starting with duct removal from the throttle body air inlet. The technician should relocate the air pipe to obtain better visibility. The first step includes removing the thermostat by-pass tube along with two procedures which are the exhaust crossover heat shield bolt removal and subsequent heat shield removal. The exhaust crossover pipe requires removal after you uninstall the pipe nuts. Start by mounting the exhaust crossover pipe according to the fastener notice specifications before installation. Fasten the exhaust crossover pipe nuts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) while installing the exhaust crossover heat shield with its bolts secured to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Reinstallation should start with putting back the thermostat by-pass tube and the optional air pipe after which you can reattach the throttle body air inlet duct.
