2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Antenna Cable Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Antenna Cable for the control module on 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: First access the headliner by loosening its rear area before removing the antenna coaxial cable from the radio antenna module. First remove the rear seat cushion followed by the rear seat back then the left carpet retainers together with the lower center pillar trim panel. Adjust the carpet when needed to reach the wiring harness before you take off the left instrument panel insulator. To access the radio position adjust its knob then remove the antenna coaxial cable from the radio's back end. The visible portion of antenna coaxial cables should be cut off from wiring harnesses in the kick panel region and rear shelf area. Secure the coaxial antenna cables to the vehicle by wrapping electrical tape around them to attach the antenna extension cable onto the wiring harness top. Securing points must be placed at least every 150 mm (6 in). To prevent radio installation problems attach the sliding snap-lock feature then hook up the coaxial Antenna Cable with the radio. Position the radio's coaxial Antenna Cable against the sliding lock feature of the kick panel before connecting it to the cable. The installation process requires a return of the left instrument panel insulator followed by carpet installation and replacement of the lower center pillar trim panel and left carpet retainers. Connect the coaxial antenna cables by running them from the body harness to the rear shelf area. After that, reattach the rear seat back and rear seat cushion while keeping the sliding snap-lock feature engaged during installation. Before reinstalling the rear headliner section connect the antenna coaxial cable to the radio antenna module by placing it behind the sliding lock feature then hook it up to the sliding lock feature.
