2000 Chevrolet Tracker Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to safely replace a front headlight bulb on 2000 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: Before changing the headlamp bulb, it is important to make sure the lamp switch is off, and allow the bulbs to cool to prevent injury as halogen bulbs contain pressurized gas, which may shatter. Use at all times eye protection and handle the bulb only at its base, without any touching to the glass while keeping the bulb clean of dust and moisture. Start by lifting and suspending the hood and disconnect the electrical connector with the headlamp bulb. Take out the rubber insulator from the headlamp assembly and use your hands or a screwdriver to press down and laterally on the headlamp bulb retainer to release the headlamp bulb. Eliminate the headlamp bulb from the assembly. To install, insert new headlamp bulb into assembly and lock by pressing retainer down and away to lock. Install the rubber insulator, reconnect the hlb electrical connection, and shut the hood. Have the used bulb handled appropriately and avoid halogen bulbs within children's reach.
