Headlamp Bulb

The first step before changing the headlamp bulb requires switching off the lamp control and waiting until the bulb reaches a safe temperature. The eyes need protection at all times and you must grab the bulb at the base section while staying clear of touching the glass surface and maintaining it dry with no dirt accumulation. First remove the hood to access the composite headlamp, then uninstall the 2 security bolts before moving the composite headlamp forward. First disconnect the electrical connector of the headlamp bulb while also removing the rubber insulator of the headlamp bulb. After removing the retainer of the headlamp bulb you can extract the headlamp bulb from the composite headlamp. You should insert the new headlamp bulb into the composite headlamp before you close the headlamp bulb retainer. The installation requires first replacing the headlamp bulb rubber insulator and afterwards reattaching the electrical connector to the headlamp bulb. Secure the composite headlamp in its proper position by using two bolts which should be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). The final step includes aiming the headlamps followed by closing the hood.

Before replacing the headlamp bulb users must first turn the lamp switch off and let the bulb cool down to ensure safety when handling the glass. Eye protection should always be worn before handling the bulb base. You should only touch its base without allowing any glass contact and maintain it clean from dirt while keeping it dry. First raise the hood for support while disconnecting the electrical connector of the headlamp bulb. Pull out the rubber insulator which covers the headlamp assembly while using your fingers to push the headlamp bulb retainer in the downward direction followed by a sideward pressure to release the bulb. Examine the area where you will remove the headlamp bulb in the assembly. To set the headlamp assembly put the new bulb inside its place and lock it by engagin the retainer downwards along with to the side. Replace the rubber insulator then resume connection of the headlamp bulb electrical connector before lowering the hood. Children must avoid contact with halogen bulbs which should get proper disposal.

Ensure the lamp switch is off and allow the bulb to cool to avoid injury from shattering glass.

Close the headlamp bulb retainer if it was opened and reinstall the headlamp bulb rubber insulator if it was taken off.

Halogen bulbs contain gas under pressure and can shatter if handled improperly.

Reinstall the rubber insulator, reconnect the headlamp bulb electrical connector, and lower the hood.

Ensure the lamp switch is turned off and allow the bulb to cool to avoid injury.
