2000 Chevrolet Venture Door Handle Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the outer sliding door handle on 2000 Chevrolet Venture?
A: The process of handling the outside sliding Door Handle starts with removing the sliding door inner trim panel and sliding door water deflector. You must disconnect the lock cylinder control rods from the sliding door outside handle before you remove the barrel nut from the lock assembly while pushing the rod away from the lock assembly. You need to disconnect the harness connector of the sliding door lock module if it has one installed before unbolting the sliding Door Handle lock actuator screws and extracting the lock assembly from the sliding door. The outside handle cable disconnecting from the lock assembly must happen before removing both sliding door outside handle bolts and the outside handle itself. Secure the sliding door outside handle to the sliding door by applying nuts which should be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Attach the outside handle cable with the lock assembly after putting the lock assembly on the sliding door. Then tighten the sliding Door Handle lock actuator screws to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnect the harness connector of the sliding door lock module before pushing the lock rod to reach the sliding door lock assembly and adjusting the barrel nut into position. Reconnect control rods to the sliding door outside handle followed by inspection of lock rod travel and then reinstall the sliding door water deflector and inner sliding door trim panel.
