  A: The first step before installing a lower Intake Manifold requires checking that all Fuel Injector wiring connectors line up with their intended fuel injectors so you can prevent poor engine function and high exhaust output. Start by taking off the upper Intake Manifold before moving to the left and right side valve rocker arm covers of the engine. First use masking tape to tag each Fuel Injector wiring harness connector with its corresponding cylinder number then disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor wiring harness. Begin by disconnecting the Fuel Injector followed by the manifold air pressure (MAP) and ect wiring harness before you remove the fuel feed and return pipe from the Fuel Injector rail. Uninstall the Fuel Injector rail by itself while leaving the power steering hoses and pipes connected to the Power Steering Pump. Separate the Power Steering Pump from the vehicle's front engine cover before placing it aside. First disconnect heater inlet pipe with heater hose and inlet Radiator Hose from the engine then separate the thermostat bypass hose from the lower Intake Manifold pipe. Use rtv sealer gm p/n 12345739 or equivalent to spread a 8 - 12-mm (0.08 - 0.11-inch) bead along each contact surface on the front and rear of the lower Intake Manifold to the engine block before gasket installation. After tightening the valve rocker arms install the push rods before fitting the lower Intake Manifold. New lower Intake Manifold bolts need usage before performing bolt torques on vertical bolts to 7 nm (62 lb in) then 7 nm (62 lb in) for diagonal bolts and concluding with vertical bolts at 13 nm (115 lb in) and diagonal bolts at 25 nm (18 lb ft). Attach all three components ending in the lower Intake Manifold: the thermostat bypass hose and inlet Radiator Hose together with heater inlet pipe with heater hose. Put back the Power Steering Pump together with the Fuel Injector rail before connecting the fuel feed pipe and return pipe to their respective spots on the rail.
