2000 GMC Safari Wiper Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the wiper motor on 2000 GMC Safari?
A: First you need to take off both wiper arms plus the air inlet grille panel to access the wiper motor area. Take out the wiper motor after using Wiper Transmission Separator J 39232 to disconnect its drive link from the wiper motor crank arm. Then undo the wiper motor electrical connector and three bolts before lifting the wiper motor from its place. Place the wiper motor into its designated location and thread in the three bolts by tightening them to 7.0 N.m (62 lb in). Make sure to join the wiper motor electrical connector while setting the wiper transmission to the crank arm beyond the second notch to attain a 25.5 mm (1.0 in) maximum compression height. Use lithium-based grease (GM part number 1050109 or 1052196) in the socket when you put the transmission drive link onto the crank arm with the Wiper Transmission Installer (J 39529). End by putting back the air inlet grille panel and wiper arms after completing all steps.
