    Q:
How to replace the wiper motor on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start with these essential tools before starting the wiper motor replacement: You will need both Wiper Transmission Separator (J 39232) and Wiper Transmission Installer (J 39529) tools. Wiper Transmission Separator (J 39232) and Wiper Transmission Installer (J 39529). The first step is to detach the wiper arms and the air inlet grille panel. Start by using the Wiper Transmission Separator tool (J 39232) to detach the wiper motor crank arm transmission drive link followed by the removal of wiper motor electric connections and three wiper motor securing bolts. After executing these removal procedures take the wiper motor out of the vehicle. Mount the new wiper motor into position on the vehicle before securing it with the three bolts applying 7.0 N.m (62 lb in) of torque to each bolt. Application of the Wiper Transmission Installer (J 39529) will help secure the transmission drive link to the crank arm while you use this tool to compress the seal between the second detent points to achieve a maximum of 25.5 mm (1.0 in). After lubricating the socket interior with lithium-based grease (GM P/N 1050109, 1052196 or equivalent) reinstall the air inlet grille panel alongside the wiper arms.

    Q:
How to replace the wiper motor on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the wiper motor replacement by taking out the wiper arms along with the air inlet grille panel. First cut the transmission drive link loose from the wiper motor crank arm while using the Wiper Transmission Separator tool. Then disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector after the removal of three bolts securing the motor. During installation install the fresh wiper motor into the vehicle and keep the torque at 7.0 N.m (62 lb in) across the three mounting bolts. Follow these steps to install the wiper motor electrical connector: Assemble the wiper transmission on the crank arm past the second detent until the seal reaches maximum height of 25.5 mm (1.0 in). During installation distribute lithium-based grease (GM P/N 1050109, 1052196 or equivalent) inside the socket. To complete the procedure connect the transmission drive link to the crank arm using the Wiper Transmission Installer (J 39529) before reinstalling the air inlet grille panel followed by the wiper arms.
