How to service the tail light on 2000 GMC Savana 3500?

Start tail lamp servicing by taking out the upper quarter panel applique then detach the two nuts through which the taillamp hooks to the upper quarter panel. Begin by unscrewing the lens covering the center high mounted stoplamp from its applique before disconnecting the bulb sockets from the taillamp. Turn each bulb socket clockwise until it releases from its socket. Installation begins by putting the bulbs into their sockets followed by reconnecting the sockets to the taillamp assembly. Tighten two retaining nuts on the upper quarter panel until they achieve 5 n.m (44 lb in) torque before reattaching the upper quarter panel applique.
