How to service and repair the lifter/lash adjuster on 2001 Buick LeSabre?

In servicing and repairing the lifter/lash adjuster, store all the parts of the valve train so as to install them back. Take off the rocker arms, pushrods and pedestals followed by the lower intake manifold and gaskets. Wipe down and clean the valve lifters and guides and replace them together with the valve guide retainer and lower intake manifold.
