How to replace a muffler on 2001 Buick Park Avenue?

Starting the Muffler replacement process begins with lift and supporting the car. Use a suitable cut off tool to slice through the Exhaust Pipe next to the welded area of the Muffler before you support both components. Begin by removing the nut holding the rear Exhaust Hanger to its bracket before removing the Muffler from the vehicle. Before pulling on the rear Exhaust Hanger from the tail pipe hanger rod apply a suitable lubricant to both components. Initial Muffler and Exhaust Pipe joining should be completed followed by Muffler clamp installation without tightening the clamp. A soapy mixture should be applied to both the tailpipe hanger rod and inner diameter of the rear Exhaust Hanger before sliding the hanger over the rod while aligning it with the bracket. Fasten the nut on the rear Exhaust Hanger bracket to the hanger using 30 nm force (22 ft. Lbs. Torque). Secure the Muffler to the vehicle by first making sure the rear tailpipe is horizontal before tightening its clamp nuts to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Finally, lower the vehicle.
