2001 Cadillac Catera Brake Light Switch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Replace the Brake Light Switch for Cruise Control on 2001 Cadillac Catera?
A: Begin replacement of the cruise release switch by first taking out the lh sound insulator and the lh front floor air outlet duct. Follow this procedure to detach the switch from the Brake Pedal bracket by pressing the brake lever followed by disconnecting the switch from its lugs and unplug the connector of the switch harness. When installing the switch connector insert the locking sleeve to its 2/3rd position until the actuating pin extends fully then connect the switch connector. During Brake Pedal use install the switch into the Brake Pedal bracket until both locking lugs click into place. When the brakes are released the switch adjusting pin automatically moves into position. Move up your foot on the Brake Pedal before pushing the locking sleeve into position on the switch. After installing the lh front floor air outlet duct and the lh sound insulator check that the cruise control system functions as intended.
