• Q: How to replace the Lash Adjuster on 2001 Cadillac Catera?

  A: First disconnect the negative Battery Cable, then remove the intake plenum, intake manifold, and the left or right Camshaft cover, the intake air resonator and the front Timing Belt cover in order to replace the valve lifter. Then remove the Timing Belt and the left or right Camshaft(s), remove their lifter(s), which are to be placed in a rack sequentially for potential reuse. For installation, liberate the lifter(s) , with prelube, gm p-n 12345501 , or equivalent, and install it as before (if not replaced). Install the left or right Camshaft(s) then the Timing Belt and the front Timing Belt cover and store them the intake air resonator, left or right Camshaft cover, intake manifold, and intake plenum. Reattach the negative batterie cable to finish the job.
