  A: Start the Lash Adjuster replacement procedure by disconnecting the battery negative lead. Start by removing both the intake plenum together with the Intake Manifold and the appropriate valve cover. The maintenance process starts with removing the intake air resonator while also removing the front Timing Belt cover and the Timing Belt and Camshaft sprocket(s). You should disconnect all relevant camshafts along with adjuster units while placing used pieces in a sequential rack for reinstallation if reuse is necessary. Before installation you need to lubricate the adjuster(s) with prelube gm p/n 12345501 or equivalent before placing them in their original position when replacements are not needed. Installation begins with the camshafts and sprockets then expands to the Timing Belt along with the front Timing Belt cover. The procedure requires reinstalling the valve cover and intake air resonator and Intake Manifold before securing the intake plenum. Proceed with the installation by connecting the battery's negative cable.
