2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Clutch Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Clutch Master Cylinder on 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier?
A: First, take the clutch master cylinder pushrod off the clutch pedal, then loosen and take off the master cylinder retaining nuts at the front of the dash and remove the remote reservoir. After that, separate the clutch actuator cylinder line and take out the clutch master cylinder from the clutch pedal assembly. When installing, first connect the clutch master cylinder assembly to the clutch pedal assembly and the clutch actuator cylinder line, then put on the remote reservoir last. Make sure you put the master cylinder retaining nuts on the front of the dash and tighten them evenly to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). After that, fit the pushrod to the clutch pedal, configure the cruise control clutch switch if your car has it, and bleed the hydraulic system.
