How to replace the Parking Brake Shoe on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?

You need to remove the brake rotor and the wheel bearing/hub unit according to the wheel bearing/hub replacement - rear procedure. You should first adjust the parking brake adjusting nut until all park brake shoe adjustment is eliminated and then remove the Parking Brake Shoe retaining spring. After spreading the brake shoe slightly the park brake shoe assembly can be removed by pulling it from the actuator assembly. To install the shoe first expand it slightly before pulling it onto the actuator assembly after which install the Parking Brake Shoe retaining spring. The adjustment procedure of Parking Brake Shoe-to-drum clearance should be completed before the wheel bearing/hub is reinstalled (Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear) and the brake rotor is installed.
