How to service and repair the fan shroud on 2001 Chevrolet Express 3500?

In order to service and repair the fan shroud, eliminate the air cleaner assembly, air intake duct, and coolant reservoir. In some engines, remove the oil level indicator and oil fill tube. Eliminate the up and down fan shroud retaining bolts and the fan and clutch. Install back the parts in the reverse order.
