• Q: How to replace the upper intake manifold on 2001 Chevrolet Lumina?

  A: Before starting upper Intake Manifold replacement disconnect the battery ground cable and vacuum hose from the Throttle Body air inlet duct. Detach the wiring harness of the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor before you take off the Throttle Body air inlet duct and execute the engine coolant drain. Move the accelerator control and cruise control cables with bracket out of the Throttle Body and disconnect all wiring harness connectors from this assembly especially the throttle position (TP) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve. The maintenance procedure requires disconnecting left front Spark Plug Wires alongside the camshaft position (CMP) sensor wiring harness and left-hand plug wire harness and engine wiring harness attachment clips. First remove the coolant pipe Throttle Body connecting nut before cutting the throttle bypass pipe hoses and taking off the engine mount struts. First reposition the engine while you put the engine mount struts in place before connecting the thermostat bypass pipe coolant hoses to the Throttle Body and securing the coolant pipe nut. After completing cmp sensor harness, left-hand spark plug wire harness, and engine harness connection clips you should attach left-hand Spark Plug Wires together with wiring harness connectors to the Throttle Body. The cooling system requires engine coolant before the Throttle Body receives the accelerator control and cruise control cables with bracket. Then install the Throttle Body air inlet duct and connect the wiring harness to the iat sensor before reattachment of the battery ground cable.
