How to service and repair the oil filter on 2001 Chevrolet Lumina?

In order to repair and replace the oil filter, lift the vehicle and place a drain pan of oil directly under the drain plug. Pop out the plug, clean it and check the oil pan. Take off the oil filter and then place a new one and screw it. Pour in new oil, remove any leaks, and regulate oil level.
