Start the front Door Hinge replacement procedure by taking out the door and water deflector and speaker unit if they are present. The initial step includes cleaning all remaining body sealer material near the hinges before unfastening the door hinges from both body hinge pillars and Door Hinge pillars. Apply a center punch to indicate the middle point of each original weld on both the door and body hinge pillar. Begin by peeling off the door Weather Strip prior to drilling 3 mm (1/8 in) deep holes through the welds which should solely penetrate the hinge base. Finish by adding 13 mm (1/2 in) deep holes through the welds. A chisel tool must be used to cut the hinge loose when working on the door or body hinge pillar. Take off the park brake pedal assembly at the specific locations before removing the door opening Weather Strip and instrument panel and fender bolt and body hinge pillar trim panel. Begin the installation process by flattening and de-burring the hinge seating regions using a file while preparing the relevant surfaces. The hinge surfaces receive a coat of paint before medium-bodied sealer application follows on the mating surface. The door hinges must be installed at both locations on the hinge pillar of the door while the body pillar and place the bolt-on service hinge at an acceptable distance using the scribe marks from removal. Use a welding rod when installing the hinge bolts and tapped anchor plate into the holes of the door or hinge pillar. Use a wrench to tighten the hinge bolts to 35 n.m (26 lb ft) before reinstalling the fender bolt and instrument panel as well as the body hinge pillar trim panel and parking brake pedal assembly followed by the door opening Weather Strip and speaker if equipped and water deflector until finally installing the door.
