How to service and repair the Leaf Spring Shackle on 2001 GMC Safari?

In order to service and repair the shackle, elevate and support a vehicle and rear axle. Take off the leaf spring to shackle mounting bolt and nut, then shock absorber lower mounting bolt and nut. Make sure that the axle is supported individually. Install spring shackle, screw in mounting nut.
