To begin the replacement, disconnect the HO2S connector followed by removing the HO2S with the Oxygen Sensor Wrench tool (J 39194-B). The new sensor installation calls for anti-seize compound GM P/N 5613695 on the threads because this compound containing liquid graphite and glass beads helps simplify future removal tasks. Apply the HO2S using the Oxygen Sensor Wrench (J 39194-B) before tightening the sensor to 42 N.m (31 lb ft). Check all wires are clear of damage then connect the HO2S harness connector while lowering the vehicle to its assembled position.
