2001 GMC Savana 3500 Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on 2001 GMC Savana 3500?
A: The replacement of the throttle position (TP) sensor begins by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable while also removing the engine cover. Moving forward disconnect the harness connector from the tp sensor followed by the removal of its fasteners. Avoid immersing the tp sensor in liquid cleaning products since it comprises electrical parts that can malfunction. Disconnect the tp sensor from the position it holds within the Throttle Body assembly. The first step for installation is to close the throttle valve then mount the tp sensor on the throttle shaft through counterclockwise placement of the mounting holes. Fasten the attaching components to the tp sensor and secure them at 2 n.m (18 lb in). Complete the procedure by reconnecting the tp sensor harness connector followed by installation of the engine cover and ending with reattaching the negative Battery Cable.
