How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2001 GMC Yukon XL 1500?

In order to change the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor, switch off the ignition and lift up the car. Relevate the cooling system and then lower the car. De-connect the ECT sensor, pull out and check that replacement parts are not faulty. Apply sealer on the sensor threads and then reroute the electrical connector and coolant and then reassemble.
