  • Q: How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on GMC Yukon XL 1500?
    A:
    In order to change the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT), first turn OFF the ignition and jack stand up the vehicle. Draining cooling system, below the level of the ECT sensor; then depressing the vehicle. Remove the electrical connector of ECT sensor and remove the sensor. For installation make sure that replacement components are correct part number for the app, and take care that the coolant sensor not damaged since it will influence the fuel control system. Seal the threads of the ECT sensor with sealer (GM P/N 12346004 or equivalent) prior to installation, tightening it to 20 N.m. (15 lb.ft.). Lastly, reconnect the ECT sensor electrical connection and add the engine coolant.
