How to Replace a Rear Door Window Regulator on 2002 Buick Century?

The first step to replacing the rear door window regulator includes removing both the trim panel along with the water deflector. Climb the window upward enough to gain access to the bolts of the window regulator before removing them to raise the glass to maximum height and tape it in place. First detach all regulator mounting bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) and regulator motor bolts from the door. Then disconnect the electrical connector and pull out the regulator from the door opening. Put the regulator inside the vehicle door then fill the electrical connector before moving forward. Insert the 3 screws located on the regulator motor before screwing the top and bottom regulator rail bolts into position. The regulator motor must be positioned in the key slots of the inner metal panel before the regulator rail assembly can be installed into corresponding slots and the rail assembly's fourth screw can be tightened. Before applying torque to the regulator motor bolts, set their starting orientation by tightening bolts 1, 2, 3 then 4 in order to achieve 10 N.m (89 lb in) torque on each bolt. Lower the window while removing tape for access to the bolts before installing the window to regulator bolts followed by tightening them to 10 N.m (89 lb in). The maintenance ends with reinstallation of both the water deflector and trim panel.
