The process to replace the front door interior handle starts with removing the trim panel together with the water deflector. Proper eye protection must be worn while drilling rivets because this helps prevent injuries. The rivet heads need a central depression before drilling with a 4.8-mm (0.188-in) drill bit. Proceed by removing the tabs from the inside remote handle which connects to the module assembly while you guide the power door lock switch electrical connector out of the Door Handle. Extract the lock rods from the handle before proceeding to take out the Door Handle. Retain the handle by connecting its lock rods then reinsert the inside remote handle into the assembly module while letting the tabs slip into position. The handle requires securement through installation of 4.8mm peel type rivets that are 0.188 inches in size. The power door lock switch electrical connector needs to be connected to the Door Handle and the lock rods must be securely fastened to the anti-rattle clips installed on the door. Test the Door Handle functionality before putting back the water deflector together with the trim panel.
