The process to replace the exterior handle on the front door starts by fully raising the window and then taking off free play between the handle and the lock components. The first step involves taking out the trim panel followed by the water deflector. Identify and remove the lock rod clip before taking out the rods from the lock assembly and then disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the two fasteners by protecting the painted surface of the outer door and then disassemble the outside handle assembly. Initiate installation of outside door handle assembly only after placing the door handle gasket correctly. Connect the electrical connector and insert the rods to the lock assembly before tightening the 2 fasteners to 7 N.m (62 lb in) while making sure the handle linkage allows no excessive travel. Open the clip to check the door handle functionality. The installation completes by placing back the trim panel along with the water deflector.
