How to replace the front interior door handle on 2001 Cadillac Eldorado?

The replacement of front door interior handles starts with trimming off panel components including the water deflector and the interior trim panel. When drilling out the two rivets always wear protective eyewear followed by a center punch operation on the rivet heads then a 4.8 mm (0.188 in) drill bit to remove them completely. Proceed by unhinging the tabs from the inside remote handle at the module assembly before you gently remove the power door lock switch electrical connector from the Door Handle. Remove the lock rods from the handle and pull out the Door Handle. To install the lock rods to the handle begin by inserting the handle into the module assembly until the tabs fit the pre-designed slots. The handle installation requires 4.8 mm (0.188 in) peel type rivets to attach it while you should reposition the power door lock switch electrical connector and make sure the lock rods remain secured to the door using anti-rattle clips. After testing the Door Handle you should install the water deflector followed by the trim panel.
