Eye protection must be worn by everyone who drills rivets to avoid injuries. The first step is to make a depression on top of each rivet's head through center punching before drilling them out with a 4.8 mm (0.188 in) drill bit. Disengage the inside remote handle tabs and draw out the power door lock switch electrical connector from the Door Handle slots to remove it. First detach the lock rods from the handle before removing the Door Handle. You should start the installation by connecting the lock rods to the handle before placing the inside remote handle into the module assembly with tab and slot alignment. The handle installation requires 4.8 mm (0.188 in) peel type rivets which need to be installed into the handle to perform the securement process. The installer should position the power door lock switch electrical connector towards the Door Handle completing the attachment to its anti-rattle clips before confirming the lock rod installation. Verify how the Door Handle functions before reinstalling the water deflector along with the trim panel.
