How to replace the deflector ring on the CV Joint on 2002 Chevrolet Astro?

Replace deflector ring on the constant velocity joint by first checking the deflector ring for signs of damage and replacing them if damaged. Hammer it off using a hammer and brass drift and then throw it away. In the assembly, place the new deflector ring on the CV joint, then push a 3 inch or 4 inch pipe coupling on to the deflector ring and install a 12mm x 12mm steel plate that has a 28mm hole in the center and is at least 3mm thick. The halfshaft bar should extend out through the hole in the steel plate. Install the bottom part M24 x 2.0 nut on the halfshaft bar and tighten it such that the deflector ring bottoms against the CV joint. Last but not least, pull out the M24 x 2.0 nut, the 12mm steel plate, and the 3 inch or 4 inch pipe coupling.
