How to remove and install the Body Control Module (BCM) on 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier?

Turn off the negative Battery Cable to access the Body Control Module (BCM). First loosen the bcm bracket to free its wire harness holder then disconnect the bcm electrical plugs. Pull out the locking tabs and take the bcm away from the bcm bracket. You can take out both bcm bracket components together by unthreading the bracket nuts first. Attach both bcm bracket components separately by first placing them as a unit then installing their nuts. Tighten the nuts to 18 pound inches (2 N.m). Press the socket of the bcm into its bracket until all lock tabs seat. Then connect bcm electronics and secure the bcm wire retainer. After disconnecting the Battery Cable reinstall it following a bcm programming process.
