How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor (7X) on 2002 Chevrolet Impala?

To remove the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor (7X), turn OFF the ignition and steer the steering wheel fully to the left. Lift the vehicle and take out the right front tire. Remove the CKP sensor attaching bolt and disconnect the CKP sensor from it, removing the sensor from the engine and inspect it for wear, cracks or leakage in case the sensor is not being replaced. Before installation oil the O-ring by pressing onto clean engine oil and replace it if necessary. After following the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions, install the CKP sensor to the block, and then install the sensor attaching bolt, with a tightness of 11 N.m (97 lb in). Attach the CKP sensor electrical connector, replace the right front wheel, and bring the vehicle back down.
