2002 Chevrolet Tahoe Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the outlet Coolant Pipe on 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe?
A: Start by draining the cooling system then you can perform surge tank hose/pipe outlet replacement work. Proceed with these steps: loosen the clamps holding the air cleaner outlet duct to the Throttle Body and the maf/iat sensor. Then remove the duct. Vehicles without rpo c36 auxiliary heater need to disconnect their surge tank/heater outlet hose from its mounting clip. Likewise, rpo c36 vehicles need to follow this same procedure. The heater line quick connect release tool (J 43181) allows safe removal of surge tank outlet hoses when users guide the tool onto the hose then push down tightly to unlock connector ends. Use the outlet hose to detach it from the heater and blower module irrespective of rpo c36. Adjust the surge tank outlet hose clamp at the surge tank before following up with complete hose removal from both surge tank and Water Pump. Begin surge tank outlet hose installation by connecting it to the Water Pump followed by clamping its position. First tighten the clamp at the surge tank outlet hose then install this hose toward the surge tank. Rename the fitting with the overlay fixation to the element of views and heater so that it forms a certain corresponding position. Install the surge tank/heater outlet hose through the mounting clip based on rpo configuration specification. Reinstall the air cleaner outlet duct by lining up the arrow at the Throttle Body end now with the Throttle Body attaching stud before tightening both clamps at Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor to 7 nm (62 inch lbs.). Fill the cooling system afterward.
