    A: To service and repair the throttle cable/linkage, start by checking the throttle pedal free play with the throttle valve idle; it should measure 2-7 mm (0.08-0.27 in). Next, loosen locknut at throttle body bracket of throttle cable and turn throttle cable accuracy adjusting nut to align with the free play specified. Repeat the inspection and adjustment until the free play is in the stated range. Loosen and remove the throttle cable, and then install the locknut and tighten to 23N.m (17 lb fit). Press fully on the throttle pedal while checking the throttle lever clearance with the throttle stop, while for the throttle cable end play check the measurement to be at 0.5-2.0 mm (0.02-0.07 in) and automatic transmission the measurement is at 0.8-1.5 mm (0.03-0.06 in). Finally, position the throttle pedal stop at the correct height to give the specified throttle cable end play.
