How to replace the exhaust heat shield for the catalytic converter on 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

A user must lift their vehicle before they can start the replacement process. Start by raising the vehicle. Then remove the 5 bolts fastening the heat shield to floor panel studs and extract the heat shield from the vehicle. Prior to attaching the catalytic converter heat shield follow the notes in Service Precautions about fasteners. Install the heat shield by setting it on the floor panel studs. Secure the heat shield using 5 bolts then tighten them to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.) before lowering the vehicle.
