2002 Chevrolet Venture Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the camshaft position sensor on 2002 Chevrolet Venture?
A: The Camshaft Position Sensor requires service when the ignition system is turned off. Start by removing the Power Steering Pump then disconnect the electrical connection of the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Start by unbolting the cmp sensor before pulling it out from the system. Check the cmp sensor 0-ring for wear and leakage if you do not plan to replace the sensor. When installing the sensor apply clean engine oil to the 0-ring while replacing it if you detect any signs of damage. Connect the cmp sensor before torquing the retaining bolt to 8 n.m (71 lb ft). Put the Power Steering Pump back into position while attaching the cmp sensor electrical connector.
