2003 Chevrolet Venture Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the camshaft position sensor on 2003 Chevrolet Venture?
A: The first step to service the Camshaft Position Sensor requires turning off engine ignition. You should start by removing the Power Steering Pump before you disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector. First detach the attaching bolt before you remove the cmp sensor from its position. Check the cmp sensor o-ring for damage when you do not replace the sensor but must do so when changing it. The o-ring deserves lubrication by engine oil before installation and requires a replacement when damage is observed. Fit the cmp sensor into position while tightening the retaining bolt until it reaches 8 n.m (71 lb ft). Hook up the cmp sensor electrical connector before putting back the Power Steering Pump.
