• Q: How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on 2003 Chevrolet Venture?

  A: To install a new Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) you should lift then stabilize the vehicle. Start the work by taking off the tire and wheel from the right front position then remove the engine splash shield. Detach the Vehicle Speed Sensor wiring plug before taking out the Vehicle Speed Sensor bolt and sensor itself from the extension case. Handle the Vehicle Speed Sensor with care when you take off the o-ring seal. Check for connector damage, worn housing, rotor marks or cuts and nicks on the o-ring seal during Vehicle Speed Sensor examination. Insert the o-ring seal onto the Vehicle Speed Sensor and put the sensor back in the extension case. Fasten the Vehicle Speed Sensor bolt with a torque of 12 nm (106 inch lbs.). Plug in the Vehicle Speed Sensor cable then put back the right engine cover and wheels followed by lowering the car.
