How to replace the wiper motor on 2002 GMC Safari?

Before starting wiper motor replacement work you need to remove both wiper arms plus the air inlet grille panel. Use Wiper Transmission Separator J 39232 to disconnect the wiper transmission drive link. Then take off the wiper motor electrical connection and remove its three mounting bolts. Put the new wiper motor inside the vehicle then attach the three bolts and torque them at 7.0 N.m (62 lb in). Attach the wiper motor electrical connector and press the wiper transmission onto the crank arm past the second stop with 25.5 mm (1 inch) compression while applying lithium grease to the inner joint socket. Complete the task by connecting the transmission drive link to the crank arm with the Wiper Transmission Installer J 39529 before putting back the air inlet grille and wiper arms.
