• Q: How to replace the heater core without RPO Code DO7 on 2003 Buick LeSabre?

  A: First drain the cooling system and remove the sight shield for the fuel injector before one can change the Heater Core without the do7 rpo code. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) will be used to loosen the heater hose clamps before detachment of the heater hoses from the Heater Core. Start by removing both sound insulators before proceeding to detach air distributor duct screws (1,2) while skipping the right side screw reinstallation. Begin the process by removing all screws from the Heater Core heat shield followed by extracting both the air distributor duct and the heat shield itself and Heater Core heat shield screws. You must first separate the Heater Core by removing its cover screws then the cover and next removing its retaining screw and strap. Install the new Heater Core by positioning it within the hvac module and fasten it with attaching straps and screws before securing them at 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). Install the Heater Core cover by correctly placing its dashboard seals first then tighten all cover screws to 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). Place the Heater Core heat shield onto the installation points followed by screw installation while tightness should be set to 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). The left side screw of the air distributor duct needs proper seat alignment before proceeding with a tight 1.4 n.m (12 lb in) torque limit. Install the left and right side sound insulators and heater hoses with hose clamp pliers (J 38185) together with the fuel injector sight shield before filling the cooling system.
