Buick LeSabre Heater Core Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the heater core with RPO DO7 on Buick LeSabre?
    A:
The procedure to change the Heater Core into rpo do7 begins by emptying the cooling system fluid. Before commencing the Heater Core heater repair one must remove the sight shield through manual intervention while the spring hose clamp pliers (J 38185) must be employed for the removal of heater hose clamps and heating core hoses. Subsequently detach first the left and then the right side sound insulators followed by the auxiliary air distribution duct adapter. The right side screw of the air distributor duct does not need replacement as you take out the screws (1,2). Start by removing the air distributor duct before unfastening all heat shield screws from the core heater and the shield. After that detach the screws securing the Heater Core cover and remove it. First disconnect the retaining screw and strap attached to the Heater Core followed by its removal. Insert the new Heater Core into the hvac module through the attaching straps and screws which should be tightened to 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). First position the front dash seals correctly before tightening the Heater Core cover screws to 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). Following that install the Heater Core heat shield by tightening screws as per the specification of 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). The left screw should be installed through the air distributor duct at its proper tab positioning before tightening to the specified torque of 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). Continue by installing the auxiliary air distribution duct adapter and then proceed with the left and right side sound insulators. The spring hose clamp pliers (J 38185) should be used to reattach heater hoses and clamps before reinstalling the fuel injector sight shield. Finally, fill the cooling system.
