2000 Buick LeSabre Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heater Core on 2000 Buick LeSabre?
A: The replacement of the Heater Core starts with draining the cooling system fluids. The spring hose clamp pliers (J 38185) are used to remove heater hose clamps before detaching each heater hose from the Heater Core. Remove the left and right side sound insulators before unfastening the air distributor duct screws along with right-side screw exclusivity (1,2). Start by detaching the air distributor duct before unscrewing the Heater Core heat shield screws and finally taking out the heat shield as well as the Heater Core screws and strap. Tear down the Heater Core cover screws along with the cover then disengage the retaining screw and strap from the Heater Core before removing it. Insert the new Heater Core into the hvac module using attaching straps and screws but tighten these connectors to 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). Apply the Heater Core cover tightly by following these steps: 1. Set the front dash seals in their right positions and 2. Screw in the cover with torques at 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). You should install the Heater Core heat shield before applying screws and tightly tightening the screws to a torque of 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). Secure the air distributor duct while aligning the left screw tab correctly and apply 1.4 n.m torque (12 lb in) to both. Installation of the left and right sound insulators can begin after securing the heater hoses with appropriate clamps using spring hose clamp pliers (J 38185) and replacing the fuel injector sight shield as the last step before adding fluid to the cooling system.
