• Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in the Compressor Hose Assembly on 2000 Buick LeSabre?

  A: The first step to change the A/C Compressor hose assembly requires the a/c refrigerant recovery, recycling and recharging (ACR4) system (J 39500-B) to extract refrigerant from the a/c system. The a/c pressure switch electrical connector along with the negative Battery Cable require unhooking for the operation. First disconnect the compressor hose assembly along with its hose nut from the compressor followed by removing the hose assembly and its nut from the condenser before extracting the hose and nut from the accumulator. Take away the A/C Compressor hose from the current vehicle installation. Inspect the seal washers for damage before a/c installation by replacing all damaged seals. First, mount the A/C Compressor hose onto the vehicle before installing it to the compressor then tighten the nut to 39 n.m (31 lb ft). After connecting the electrical connector to the a/c pressure switch the installer should attach the hose with nut to the condenser and fasten this connection using 20 n.m (15 lb ft) torque value before proceeding to similar installation of the accumulator hose with nut setting torque at 20 n.m (15 lb ft).
