2001 Buick LeSabre A/C Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in a Compressor Hose Assembly on 2001 Buick LeSabre?
A: The replacement process for the compressor hose assembly begins with recovering the refrigerant followed by negative Battery Cable disconnection. You should start by detaching the electrical connector from the a/c pressure switch before removing the A/C Compressor hose nut at the compressor to take off the A/C Compressor hose assembly from the compressor. Fasten the compressive nut of the compressor hose at the condenser then detach the hose assembly from the condenser. Initial steps begin by disconnecting the A/C Compressor hose from the accumulator and then removing its hose nut at the accumulator. The last step involves removing the A/C Compressor hose from the vehicle along with removing the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor from the hose. Begin the installation process by fitting the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor onto the hose followed by the A/C Compressor hose onto the vehicle but inspect all seal washers for damage before reinstallation of a/c lines and hoses since flat washer type seals do not need lubrication. Affix the A/C Compressor hose to the A/C Compressor before installing and tightening the A/C Compressor hose nut to 39 n.m (31 lb ft). Proceed by fitting the electrical connector media onto the a/c pressure switch followed by housing the A/C Compressor hose to the condenser before applying the A/C Compressor hose nut with a torque of 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Reconnect the negative Battery Cable while charging the a/c system followed by testing all component fittings with the j 39400-a. Install the A/C Compressor hose and its nut on the accumulator until tightness reaches 20 n.m (15 lb ft).
