2002 Buick LeSabre A/C Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose Assembly on 2002 Buick LeSabre?
A: Start by recovering the refrigerant then disconnecting the negative Battery Cable as the first step for replacing the a/c compressor hose assembly. The first step is to disconnect the electrical connector from the a/c pressure switch then remove the a/c compressor hose nut at the compressor which enables detachment of the a/c compressor hose assembly from the compressor. The a/c compressor hose assembly connecting to the condenser demands removal through disconnecting the condenser's hose nut and releasing the assembly from its position. The a/c compressor hose requirement starts with removing the accumulator hose nut and disconnecting this hose from the accumulator. Afterwards, the a/c compressor hose needs to be removed from the vehicle along with detachment of the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor from the hose. To install the system begin by attaching the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor to the hose followed by fitting the a/c compressor hose to the vehicle while checking the seal washers for damage before replugging the a/c lines and hoses. Secure the a/c compressor hose to the a/c compressor while torquing the a/c compressor hose nut to 39 n.m (31 lb ft). First connect the electrical connector to the a/c pressure switch and then link the a/c compressor hose to the condenser while tightening the a/c compressor hose nut to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Install and tighten an a/c compressor hose with nut to the accumulator before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable to recharge the a/c system and perform a halogen leak detector test (J 39400-A) on the component fittings.
